Mark Allen Pairs 2026

Posted 27/09/26

On Saturday 26th September 2026 we held our 14th Annual Pairs Tournament at Winkleigh Sports Centre, which acquired its current name in 2019 in memory of our much respected and liked member after his passing.

18 teams from across Devon competed, after being welcomed by “bacon butties” on arrival, later a cooked lunch was provided.

Each team playing 4 matches in the initial rounds with Christow reaching the final after winning 4 matches, 8 points and a shot difference of +38. Team Kath were the other finalists after winning 3 matches, 6 points and a shot difference of +23 shots.

In a high standard final, which was keenly contested, Team Kath, Richard Williams and Nick Wyatt, prevailed by 7 shots to 2. This was the third time that they have won this trophy.

Grandfather Geoff Cleave and his Grandson Sean Woodley represented Christow SMBC, who have entered this competition on many occasions.

Thank you to all the teams for competing and congratulations to the finalists and worthy winners. Also thank you to all the Winkleigh members who worked so hard to make this another enjoyable and successful day for all.
